Joining AURA
AURA membership is corporate rather than individual. The company is represented
within AURA by a Main Member (usually the most senior research/insight professional/user/
buyer in the organisation) who may appoint up to three Associate Members as part
of the standard subscription rate.
Associate Members receive full access to AURA's benefits and may attend seminars
and meetings providing that there are no more than two members from the same company
at any one meeting. Only the Main Member may cast the organisation’s
vote at any General Meetings.

Membership requirements
Membership is only open to organisations involved in buying market research and/or
insight. Companies that supply research services are not usually eligible to join.
Membership is always subject to final decision by AURA’s
Council.
Applicants for Main or Associate membership will ideally belong to one of the following
professional bodies: MRS, ESOMAR, CIM, AQR or the SRA (or currently be applying
for membership). Failing this, applicants will need to:
- be proposed by an AURA Main Member who is also a member of one of the above professional
bodies;
- sign an undertaking that they have read, and promise to abide by, the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct
- attend an interview with AURA Council members
to establish that the applicant has the necessary experience as a market research
professional.
Subscription rate
From July 2006 annual AURA corporate membership costs £350 per organisation
for 1 main member and up to 3 associates. Any associates over and above this number
increase the cost by £35 per person.
In addition, those companies that opt to join GIMRA (General Insurance Market Research
within AURA) pay a supplement of £200. See <here> for specific
information about GIMRA.
